However, it is important to understand that semaglutide oral drops are not as effective as the injections, but still offer notable weight loss results for most patients.

In general, oral semaglutide drops are considered to be about 80% as effective as the injectable form. For patients who do not want to deal with the hassle of injections, cannot undergo injections, or who may only need limited weight loss, SemaDrop offers a wonderful alternative that is easy to administer. Patients can usually expect about a ten to fifteen percent reduction in body weight with oral semaglutide drop treatment. But, this will vary. Patients who improve their diet and exercise habits alongide semaglutide treatment tend to see better and longer lastering results overall. Semaglutide drops may not be right for every patient. For those who need to lose a significant amount of weight or whose health is severely impacted by their weight, semaglutide may need to consider injections over the drops because of the efficacy and higher doses. 

Differences Between Semaglutide Injections & Drops

Other than the mode of administration, there are two major differences between semaglutide injections and drops. Firstly, the dosage varies significantly. While it contains the same active ingredient, semaglutide drops—which are administered daily—use a much smaller dosage. The weekly injections contain a larger dose. This is largely due to how often the medication is taken, but also the practicality of the administration method. Secondly, due to the difference in dose, semaglutide drops tend to have fewer and milder side effects. The full dose is usually not initially prescribed with the injections and is worked up to over several weeks. With the drops, while somem step up may be involved, it is much more limited because side effects are generally less of a concern with sublingual semaglutide drops.
